Architecture is a setting for relationships - intimate relationships in the private space, community relationships in circumscribed spaces, and public relationships in the urban surroundings - and the design of that setting defines how people understand it.
To the village we associate an image, a scale, a way of living, and a rhythm reflected in a spatial structure animated by the clarity of response to everyday needs, full of models and solutions despite the small repertoire of materials and the continuation of building processes and systems.
The proposal for Aldeia da Roca has as its matrix the spatial structure of the villages of the region, still legible in some cases even when already absorbed in a broader context and seeks to order the spaces according to the level of relationships expected to be provided in each one.
