BNC - HEADQUARTERS
Pryconsa SA . Lisbon . 2003
The project favours a solution for large interior spaces, where the structural solution, with two lines of central columns and slabs on large cantilevers, is combined with purposely drawn and factory-produced façades assembled on site in large elements.
At the eastern end of Av. José Malhoa, the BNC - Banco Nacional de Crédito Imobiliário, S. A. headquarters building has great visibility due to its size and position, particularly in relation to the large open space of the Praça de Espanha.
Between the clusters located at the tops of the vertical body of the building and connected on the upper floor by a horizontal volume, the large central glass panel appears suspended over the entrance atrium, a negative of the horizontal body, a viewpoint over the Praça de Espanha and a transitional element to the Mosque.
