PALÁCIO SOTTOMAYOR
Pryconsa SA . Lisboa . 1989/2003
Built in the beginning of the 20th century, the Sottomayor palace reflects a way of life in Lisbon that has practically disappeared.
The french-inspired composite style building was authored by chief engineer Rodrigues Nogueira, with the aid of engineer Ezequiel Bandeira.
The renovation included the palace’s restoration, as well as a shopping centre, offices, hotel and carpark, a total area of 50,000sqm.
The architecture is deliberately discreet in its design, colour and materials, favouring the palace’s presence.
