The various buildings are designed to meet the functional requirements of the different sections of the barracks and are arranged to optimize the most frequently used routes, thereby minimizing response times to calls for assistance.

The large vehicle bay, featuring a continuous row of gates along both opposing sides, allows for the direct and individual exit of various types of vehicles without the need for maneuvering.

The fire station serves the urban area, Lisbon Airport, and the Vasco da Gama Bridge; as such, it is equipped with training facilities for diving and various types of live-fire exercises, including those involving aviation fuels.
