The intervention aimed to reorganize the interior layout of the Basilica da Estrela, considered the last expression of Baroque in Portuguese Architecture and designated a National Monument, in a manner suitable for the current ritual of celebrations.
With a contemporary design, and utilizing steel and laminated wood for the altar, the ambo, the base of the processional cross, and the platform for the new presbytery, these elements establish a distinction between the pre-existing structure and the proposed design without creating interference.
